Jeeves and Wooster might be my new favorite show. And Jeeves might be my favorite character in anything ever.
Just sayin'.

| Productivity Summary |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|02:06 am] |
| [ | I am feeling kind of... |
| | accomplished | ] | Startup: slow. notusachan and narcissisma made me watch Withnail & I on Youtube, so I had to finish that before I could begin sewing
Productivity time period: small, due to above issue
Accomplishments: hemmed up skirt, waistbanded & hemmed petticoat
To-do list for incomplete items: skirt needs a few more buttons, plus all the trim around the bottom (that will be done at the very last - and I haven't purchased it yet anyway, going to the store tomorrow to see what I can find); petticoat needs buttons at waistband and more ruffles to give it body (because I think it'll be easier to do that than make and wear a second petticoat)
Master to-do list:
- buy white jacket (Charley) - "MURCHFORD" and "R101" name tapes (Charley) bought some online just now :D - clean black dress shoes because I've been wearing them to class and they're covered in flour (Charley) ** also get new black shoes to wear to class so I don't continue getting the Charley-shoes dirty ** - haircut/dye job??? (Charley) - finishing touches on skirt (Alice) - finishing touches on petticoat (Alice) - make jacket (Alice) - buy funky-colored gloves off eBay (Alice) - find wig - check the vintage shop in downtown Plano, they may have something good (Alice) - make hat with Kitt's help, if I have time / can get the materials quickly (Alice)
...this to-do list is actually not too terrible :O I CAN DO IT! I think I can get the jacket hashed out this weekend, so that all I need to do is the trim and buttons and stuff - that always takes longer than I expect, but I don't have to hole myself up in the sewing room to do it so it's not so hard to get the momentum going.
NO PHOTOS TODAY SORRY, they would look pretty much the same as the last photos I took anyway, except there's a little more poofiness under the skirt and no raw edges. IMAGINE IT FOR YOURSELF. |

Holy crap, I go to my computer this morning only to find FIFTY MILLION emails from my boss XD
She sent me notes for stuff to put on my to-do list while she's out of town...lots and lots of notes. Still hilarious!
Also, stolen from azriona because I'm sure there are interested parties on my own flist - Rex Is Not Your Lawyer (okay she posted a different article but I liked this picture better).
...I hope he's got a range of different American accents, his Southern is a bit dodgy (I myself used to live in Virginia near the "Poto-mack"* River, heh). At least it was a light Southern - the deep South 'fire and brimstone' accents in the Big Finish radio play Minuet in Hell were pretty...wow D:
*protip: it's pa-TO-mac
Like I have room to talk when it comes to accents, though - I swing from a fairly neutral American with a little dash of the South to a Texan drawl to a pretty good BVE (THANKS, BOSS), depending on who I'm talking to or about, and what I'm saying. The one black guy in my baking class calls me an honorary sistah >.>
Also when I try for a British accent, I am ALL OVER THE PLACE. Like, not even different flavors of England, but throwing in words with a distinctly Scottish, Welsh or Irish sound. I'm sure it must be as cringe-worthy to listen to as it is for me to listen to bad attempts at an American accent, hehe. |

| [ | I am feeling kind of... |
| | cheerful | ] | Halloween was fun :D Went out to the mall with lysoke and reapingbones, we ate delicious cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory and went ice skating - ouch...my legs ache today. Also a successful quest at costume items for lysoke and unsuccessful quest at costume items for me, grarr (I'll just have to get the gloves I need off eBay, I guess). Then we went back to my house and dogpiled on the couch to watch movies and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Last year I dressed my house up as the Team Rocket headquarters, and I wore my Team Magma costume - this year I put on the pieces of the Alice Guppy costume I have finished (so, uh, skirt, shirt and tie), while the other two reprised Jack and Ianto from AnimeFest, and I dressed my house up as the Hub XD I didn't think to take any pics in costume, but after they left I took a couple of the front door.
( pictures behind cut )
...astonishingly, we got a fan - a teenage girl who lives just down the street was out with her friend (I did not know her, as I don't see many of my neighbors except the couple across the alley, the couple next door and their kids, and Seizure Boy across the street) and she was super excited about the front door. I wonder if she's the same person I caught a glimpse of biking down the alley dressed as Matt from Death Note a while back? Anime fandom and sci-fi nerdery don't always go hand-in-hand, but it's definitely not uncommon. If I had thought of the question last night instead of just now as I was typing about her, I would've asked! |

| [ | I am feeling kind of... |
| | sleepy | ] | Halloween was pretty boring. I sat around like usual.
Early yesterday morning, before I went to bed. I was browsing around hulu and saw that the had The Pit and the Pendulum. Vincent Price is absolutely amazing in that film. Of course I had to watch it before I drifted off to sleep. So, I watched that. Went to bed. Woke up. My mom came home, we had dinner. The end.
I think I'm going back to my Otaku Boom for a little while.
It's amazing how fansub distributors have disappeared off the face of the earth. |
